“Hang Cool Teddy Bear” was inspired by a story by Kilian Kerwin about a soldier who has been wounded in battle and thinks he will die. Instead of his life flashing before his eyes of what has been, he sees into what could have been his future with the same woman in different scenarios.

“I wanted it big, I wanted it dramatic, I wanted a rock record,” said Meat Loaf on his official website. “Yes, it sounds like a Meat Loaf record. But it sounds different, too; it sounds new, it sounds fresh. It speaks to you in a different way.”

Meat Loaf tickets are available for his upcoming tour that kicks off on July 3 at the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavillion in Gilford, N.H., and and wraps up on Aug. 8 at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Pentiction, B.C.
